THERE ARE NO OUTDOOR ICE RINKS IN MADRID
Director Bruno Lázaro Pacheco
Countries Spain, Spain
Duration 75 min
Synopsis
An experimental essay erasing boundaries between fiction and documentary to uncover personal and historical connections between a poet, a doctor, an immigrant and a volunteer soldier. They crossed the Atlantic between ES and CA, not always in the same direction, but always for the same cause. While traveling to research and write a script about a young Canadian who volunteered as a soldier to defend Spanish democracy in 1937, the filmmaker, immigrant and son of the exiled Spanish poet Jesús López Pacheco, discovers through poetry and music links that unite generations, continents, fiction and reality.
