Synopsis
III Festival of Brazilian Popular Music finale 1967. In front of a boiling
audience, some of the artists today considered of major importance
compete among themselves. The songs would become emblematic,
but remained unreleased until that moment. Among the 12 finalists,
Chico Buarque and MPB 4 came with "Roda Viva"; Caetano Veloso, with
"Alegria, alegria" ‘; Gilberto Gil and "os Mutantes", with "Domingo no
Parque"; Edu Lobo, with "Ponteio"; Roberto Carlos, with the samba
"Maria, Carnaval e cinzas"; and Sérgio Ricardo, with "Beto Bom de
Bola". The fight had everything to be good. And it was.
The film shows how the festival turned into the climax of musical production
in the 60’s in Brasil. It recreates historic images and brings
unprecedent testemonials of the main characters and some privileged
witnesses, as the journalist Sérgio Cabral (one of the judges)
and producer Solano Ribeiro.
