The Troubles We've Seen: A History of Journalism in Wartime
Director Marcel Ophuls
Countries Germany, France, United Kingdom
Duration 224 min
Synopsis
This documentary portrays a trade, the reporters, photographers and other special reporters and what they believe their role and their duty is, through a specific time (the siege of Sarajevo in 1992). Ophuls makes some detours through other periods of history (the rise of Nazism and the Second World War, the outbreak of the first, with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand) or other events related to the present (the first Gulf War). He also uses film clips from Hollywood films and those of his father.
