Synopsis
For many years Aveleda, a remote village in the northeast of Portugal, languishes. However, in the winter solstice, young unmarried men, living and working in the nearby city of Bragança, Porto, Lisbon and even abroad, return to their village. They come to celebrate the village and its ancestors, perpetuating a rite of initiation into adulthood: "The Boys’ Celebration".
