Synopsis
50 years after having been liberated from Portuguese colonial administration, and becoming the 25th state of Indian Union, Goa as been passionately debating questions of identity. Why? On one hand Goan authorities are using the exoticism of a colonial nostalgia to promote tourism, on the other hand Indian filmmakers are appropriating the iconography of a Christian Goa to romanticize their stories. How do Goans fell and react? Is it possible to identify any true Goan myth which will represent Goa or Goans? After contextualizing Goa, the film focuses on the social history of the last 50 years and how during this period "identity" has been used as a political argument. Above all the film tackles the concept of identity and its fluidity.
