Synopsis
There is Asia, who sings "we are free", with a huge smile and mischievous eyes. Julka, who hands over her man's letter, to make them smell his manly French perfume. Lusia, who looses her composure when she mentions her sick son. There is Bozena, who is hoping for parole. Agnieszka, who sends hearts, kisses and the middle finger to the camera. There is Ilona, who fills up notebook after notebook with her daily writing from the bottom of her bed. Ania, who is maybe pregnant. They smoke, laugh, argue and cuddle. They talk about their men, of their body which suffers, of their lives. They sleep together, on top of each other, one against the other, between the narrow walls of cell 77. Seven women, seven inmates who, behind the smoke from their cigarettes and next to teddy bears hanging from their beds' bars, deliver an exceptional account, true and modest, of their daily lives, their regrets, their anxieties, their hopes ("Us, Hollywood stars ! I hear : 'Come fetch your Oscars !'"), and remember through words, in the space of a moment, the path for freedom.
