Synopsis
After a traumatizing 15-month deployment to Iraq, army specialist David Cortelyou deserted and married his German girlfriend Pia Rose in 2008. Since then, they have been living in the small town of Giessen, Germany. David's memories of war and the resulting trauma are a challenge which the couple has to face head-on, all the time. Through interviews and observations from the life of David and Pia, Juliane A. Ahrens' and Simon Weber's film paints a picture of an emotional relationship - contrasting terrifying memories with every-day banality.
