Synopsis
Before being made of images, this is a film made of voices. A polyphony of anonymous voices which interlace, overlap, answer and contradict each other. A descent into the depths of a citie’s body, a slow wandering between the secret strata of a district. Fragments of life seized in streets or through walls. Parts of a puzzle that aren’t that easy to link one to another. Place: La Joliette, a zone close to the port of Marseille; more exactly: a house block, half of which will be reduced to dust during the exploration (that turns out to be as methodical as unpredictable). Time : towards the end of the period of our cities’ "reconquest", where fragile glass towers prospered on the ruins of relocated industries. Actors: some individuals, with contrasted interests, evolving in the middle of an operation which exceeds them all, even the most high-ranking. The singular map of a sample of the world being drawn under our eyes.
