Synopsis
During the colonial war young portuguese men had to choose betweeen joining the army or the national cod fishing fleet. Though far away from the battlefields, those who had chosen the fishing faced dangers and hardship well beyond their imagination. During a journey aboard the last Portuguese lugger of the cod fishery - the Creoula - three former fishermen recall the conditions of life and work of their youth, the reasons of their choices and the constraints of their destinations.
