The film depicts a religious mourning ceremony in a village in Azerbaijan Province in Iran, for the martyrdom of Imam Hossein, the 3rd Imam of the Shiites. The ceremony is the reminiscent of the religious ceremonies of the ancient Iranians in the past centuries, in which fire was worshipped and was considered the symbol of illumination and enlightenment. Light and illumination are always at war with darkness and blackness. This eternal light is named Ahura Mazda in Zoroastrianism, which gives life to existence and cleanses impurities. And darkness is named Ahriman, the symbol of ignorance and darkness.
