Synopsis
“Wisconsin” documents the implementation of the so-called Wisconsin program in Israel. The film follows the lives of Adina Ganun (42), a single mother who works as a kindergarten security guard, and Faouzi Athamneh (59), former chemistry teacher who is now a caregiver. Both participate in the Wisconsin program under the supervision of Agens, a private multi-national manpower company which has been granted financial responsibility for these participants by the state. Shlomo Kremer, founder of Wisconsin in Israel, accompanies the trials of the two protagonists as they negotiate the program’s pitfalls. The conflict between Kremer’s original vision and the harsh reality facing Adina and Faouzi exposes the scarred margins of Israel’s privatized society.
