An addiction; just a bad habit or a disease? Awakening (Despertar) is a documentary that deals with the evolution of a group of people that struggle with different kinds of addictions. Without prejudices, Awakening shows us that the problem of an addiction doesn’t distinguish between social classes or ages; it could happen to all of us. This is reflected, by the wide variety of characters the documentary deals with. We find a lawyer, a University professor, a housewife and a young businessman amongst them. Immerging ourselves in the processes of recovery of the main characters, the effort the therapist are making and the unconditional support of some of the family members, we see that it is possible to leave the world of addiction behind.
