“In the Wake of the Flood” is a documentary film presenting Canadian writer Margaret Atwood and staged performances of her new dystopian novel. Rather than mount a traditional tour to promote a book’s publication, Atwood conceived and executed something far more ambitious and revelatory – a theatrical version of her novel. While at the same time, donating profits to Bird Life, her beloved national organization dedicated to bird preservation. “In the Wake of the Flood” features unprecedented access to Atwood at home and on the road as an aging but buoyant literary rock star traveling across Europe and North America as she stages and participates in the novel production.
