Synopsis
I don’t know my father. The only things I’ve got from him are: a photograph, a newspaper article, a caricature, some love letters that he wrote to my mother when she was pregnant, and a music cassette. I only know that he is British and a
piano player. This is the story of my personal journey to find him, to understand that part of who I am.
Inspired by autobiographical stories, video diaries and personal films, Just to call you dad is an exploration of self-identity, family and roots through the search of my unknown father; a British piano player who met my mother in the sunny coast of Spain, where he lived in the late 70s. Led
by a diffuse collage of memories and hopes, the unanswered questions left by the last letters he wrote, and the unresolved conversations with my mother, the film takes us into a journey of continues discoveries, where moments of reality and inner exploration merge with sensuous visuals and honest words.
