Synopsis
Mutism is an exercise in direct cinema, a documentary of observation; it is based upon a theoretical exposition, almost in the manner of a visual essay. Mutism observes the relationship between Man and Nature: Man as he who names things, and Nature (and the animal in her) as the one who receives the names. The observation focuses on this act of receiving, and it does so by recording wild boar hunting scenes in the autumnal forrests of La Garrotxa, in the surroundings of Girona, Spain.
