Synopsis
In a seemingly timeless polder in Brabant's Biesbosch in Southern Holland seasons pass by over unaltered prestine landscape. In a corner of this polder stands a large old chestnut tree. From its branches we view the landscape and the rare visitors who pass through it.
Change comes when the land is assigned to become a flood area for the high waters of the rivers. From the perspective of the tree we see, on an autumn day, machines and tractors move into the area. A groove is dug straight through the polder. The chestnut tree seems to look on unperturbed.
