A chronicle of anxiety, a chronicle of violence, stories of departure, stories of defeat, and in the middle of the chaos, music and cinema. “Vulnerable” is my chronicle of Lebanon between 2006 and 2008. During three years I filmed inside my intimate space, on the TV screen, a daily violence, and on the editing screen, another film that remains suspended – a film on the July 2006 war. I also filmed my friends; those who left the country and those who remained. All along, many questions arisen: what space is left for the individual’s freedom, for hope, creativity and love? Is it possible for personal happiness to exist amidst collective pain? How can we live with the defeat?
