Synopsis
This film documents the making process of the fole; an object which, despite being almost unknown nowadays, was a common part of daily rural life in São Lourenço da Montaria. It functioned as a recipient for the transportation of cereal from home to windmill in the form of grain, returning it later as flour ready to be consumed. The acquistion of a fole for the Museum do Traje in Viana do Castelo (as part of the investigative area looking at traditional windmills, made possible by the many windmills that can be found in Montaria) was the pretext for the recording of this process – with its specific knowledge and language – which, despite having been repeated inumerous times in the past, runs the risk of being lost forever.
