The most famous couple in Russian classical music: 80-year-old opera singer Galina Pavlovna Vishnevskaya and 79-year-old cellist, pianist and conductor Mstislav Leopoldovich Rostropovich.They celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at their beautiful, classically furnished house in Saint Petersburg, acquired after fifty years of hard work in Russia, and then – having been exiled by the Soviet regime in 1974 for having sheltered Solzenitsyn and his wife (persecuted by the regime) in their dacha – in Europe and the United States.Two lives, almost one, of two artists of enormous courage and extraordinary tena
