Anyone who was there, knows. Genesis' double concert in Cascais was a striking event as the coming together of the general atmosphere in the capital and country – euphoria and tension, enchantment and struggle – and the groups aesthetic itself – fantasy, spectacle, musical-sound and theatrical-visual complexity – transformed the first big rock concert in Portugal into the myth of a generation, “the first day of the rest of lots of lives”. In Cascais, the “world's best group”, with the “world's best album” in their lugagge, landed in the country of all illusions, in which grey was giving way to colour, nocturnal life, controversy, debate and an effervescent sense of citizenship. Thirty years later, statements, sounds and unedited images from the concert reconstruct a puzzle of unforgettable memories for a generation that was young or adolescent in '75.
