Since its creation in 1919 by Charles Magnusson, the Svensk Filmindustri has produced 1200 films including important works by the directors Mauritz Stiller, Victor Sjöström and Ingmar Bergman. The undisputed talent of the actresses Greta Garbo and Ingrid Bergman enabled the Swedish cinema to conquer the world.
