Synopsis
Nicolas Le Riche is, together with Patrick Dupond, the youngest-ever star dancer appointed to the Paris National Opera. Nicolas is of the same generation as Björk, and of actors such as Brad Pitt, Leonardo Di Caprio; he has the same force and charisma – he has real star quality. But when you see him at work, he also has the violence, rage and determination that you find amongst top-level sportsmen; the will to win, to transcend limits by pushing one's body as far as it can go. Today Nicolas Le Riche, who himself embodies the learning gleaned from the most illustrious choreographers of the century, is facing a new challenge: he is moving from the role of an inspired interpreter to that of choreographer. The Ballet of Nancy has invited him to create a work. And so at Nancy he worked with 12 dancers (3 women and 9 men) for the first performance of his ballet RVB 21 (rouge, vert, bleu 21 minutes). Jérôme Laperrousaz filmed Nicolas in his creative process up to the first performance of the ballet. He follows the successive stages through which Nicolas passes but also the emotion he passes on in his work to the dancers who are to become the spokesmen of his vision.
