Synopsis
Within one image another image is always hidden. Using only archived film and without resorting to words, “Natureza Morta” (Still Life) intends to rediscover and penetrate the opaqueness of images captured during the 48 years of the Portuguese dictatorship (news, war reports, propaganda, photographs of political prisoners, but also rushes never before used in a final montage), allowing them to be opened up to different readings.
