Synopsis
People fleeing from the Caucasus republics – Armenians, Azerbaijanis and Russians – find themselves on the edge of the Black Sea. They work as shopkeepers, life-guards, karaoke hosts or are making the most of their holidays. Everything happens in a place called Broadway, which does not appear on any map, not even the most detailed. Broadway's temporary inhabitants construct an entire world in miniature, made up of tents, wagons and cabins, erected close to each other and in improvised rows. This scene – which is set up to last for just a few weeks over the summer – bubbles with life (and to a certain extent represents normal life in Russia).
