Synopsis
War has been taking place in the Chechen Republic since 11th December 1994. The Sultan's wife was killed and his house destroyed. With his son Apti, he fled for the Russian province, where he is trying to start his life afresh. Even if the father manages to conserve his integrity until the end, what will happen to his son, a young Chechen refugee in enemy territory? Should he make friends with a young Russian who will go off to fight in the Chechen war? Should he try to integrate himself in a society that denies him a future and rejects him or should he go back to a country devastated by war?
