Synopsis
A polyglot portrayal of ideas about borders at the beginning of the twenty-first century. On an episodic journey from North to South, five directors – from Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Slovenia – present their conceptions and visions of nation, identity and Europe. Putting their personal cinematographic slants on multifacted portraits of their countries, they open up a space for an encounter with the stranger nearby. A journey through landscapes and mentalities, in an area that is disappearing, and at the same time, being reborn – a serious, absurd, magical, fun and poetic short course on new old neighbours.
