Synopsis
An old bridge between a Romanian and a Ukranian city is being reconstructed with the financial help of the European Union. The bridge over the river Tisa was destroyed during the Second World War and the river became a border between Romania and the Soviet Union. This border separated members of the same family, friends and neighbours for more than fifty years. The bridge's reconstruction is complete but nobody is allowed to cross it. One of the reasons is the growth of the European Union. Romania wants to become a EU member in 2007 and in order to achieve this they have to keep their borders with the Ukraine closed.
