Synopsis
On the night of 26th April 1974, the doors of Caxias prison were opened and the political prisoners were released. More than the change in Government, the joyful public demonstrations or the red carnations, the opening of the doors of Caxias definitively marked the end of a fascist regime. In this film, two women, Diana Andringa and Maria José Campos, relive the time they spent detained in Caxias. Although they did not suffer the torture or other forms of violence to which the majority of their fellow inmates were subjected, both speak, with much emotion, of isolation and the so-called “normal regime” period during which they shared a cell with other prisoners and learnt to live the prison life.
