A documentary about the actor and director Anselmo Duarte, the only Brazilian film-maker to receive the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, with the film 'O Pagador de Promessas', in 1962. With statements from Duarte himself, the film shows us the beginnings of his career in cinema, his fame as a leading actor, the Palme d'Or and the consequences that the prize had for his career and his life.
