Synopsis
“Diritto Rovescio (Recht Averecht)” is an exploration of power structures and human relations inside an Italian prison. A theatre play written and performed by a group of prisoners runs parallel to the daily performance of the young woman-director and her team of police agents. Detainees and agents share the same building and the same routine. Year after year, on opposite sides. Sometimes they despise each other. At times they become friends. As the detainees use the theatre to denounce their living conditions, we discover the director’s struggle to change the place despite a chronic lack of funds and endless bureaucracy.
