A hot summer in L’viv, Ukraine. While the internal borders of the EU open up, the external border is rising. With on one side the European wall and on the other the breath of Russia, Ukraine finds itself enclosed between the future and the past. The word Ukraine means ‘borderland’. A well chosen name for a country that is bordered by Russia in the east and the European Union in the west. This film has been entirely shot at a courtyard in L’viv. In this enclosed space, different stories unfold themselves. Everybody is trying to survive. The tension rises.
