Synopsis
The fate of the young hairdresser Iva forms the documentary’s framework. At the beginning Iva hopes for remaining in Germany, at the end she and her family stay illegally. At Belgrade airport you see the scare in the children's eyes when they arrive. The gypsy families have just been deported out of Germany. There they were only tolerated. From now on they exploit the waste on the landfill, collect paper, scavenge the street, polish shoes or sell on the flea market. The living at the margin of the society in the slums is often unhygienic or even dangerous. School children become victims of right wing violent criminals. They have to work as street musicians, beggars or prostitutes. There is much resignation, and little hope.
