Synopsis
On 25th August 2007, MOUNT PANIO, in South East Attiki, caught fire. On the same day, at the same time, all of Greece was in flames. The mountain and its forest were completely destroyed and volunteer fireman Vassilis Philippou died a few days later from the fatal injuries he received fighting the fire. The Mayor of Kalivia and the Town Council did not give up and organized a campaign to bring life back to the burned area. Thousands of volunteers in one really amazing movement of citizens planted 25.000 trees. For twenty months, this film followed this organized effort and its result. The hope for the future emerged from this “LABOUR OF LOVE” of the thousands of citizens and the example given especially by the children. The effort continues…
