Synopsis
MALE travels back from Austria to Peru to film a Quechua-speaking indio who was the last worker at her grandmother’s former hacienda. But FELIPE has been thrown out by UNCLE AUGUSTO. She travels the country side with her mother LOTI. After fruitless waiting, they visit the Ayllu (indigenous community) of Felipe’s daughter. Malena has not seen her since FELI was 13 and ran away from her father to the city. FELIPE is there! FELI does not want him to go back to the hacienda. However, he accompanies MALE and LOTI on their way back. After arriving, FELIPE chops firewood spontaneously. The day after, they celebrate his return. Felipe will receive some land for his own crops, as customary. It seems that his honor has been “restored”. However, FELIPE will die a few months later…
