Jean-Jacques Perrey is the first musician who believed in the potential of electronic music, in the early 50s, at a time this new medium was still reserved for cutting edges. With allies such as Jean Cocteau, Edith Piaf or Charles Trenet in France, Gershon Kingsley and Angelo Badalamenti in the United States, Jean-Jacques Perrey has worked to create a new sound, which met the desire for modernity of the 60’s. He composed in 1958 the first album of electronic relaxation : "Prelude to sleep." His facetious and electronic pop has influenced several generations of musicians.
