Deserted villages on the Stara Planina (Old Mountain), Serbia, used to be full of life – places where different cultures and customs met and joined. Now only silence remains. Those who stayed live in the frozen moment of time, in the past that dwells in the present. According to the 1948 census, the village of Boljev Dol used to have 251 inhabitants. In July 2008, there were 249 less of them.
