The film "ilha" (island) is a documentary about a small fishing community who live at Ilha do Cardoso, a State Park in one of the most preserved areas of Brazilian Atlantic Rain Forest. The director, who lived in the Park as a child, mixes his personal history with an intimate look at the main social, cultural and economic issues that permeate the life of traditional communities in ecological reserves.
