Synopsis
Documentary about CITAC (Theatre Initiation Circle of Coimbra’s Academy), a university theatre’s group existent since 1956 in Coimbra (Portugal), revealing history before and until the democratic revolution’s smouldering ashes. CITAC retains theatre and civic education of thinking bodies, always reinventing a clue for a possible model of reachable being, generation after generation, between their studies, theatre, and social drama. The documentary reproduces student’s life, women’s role in society, and the changing mentalities of being in the world. It reproduces censorship and fight against dictatorship, resistance at the time of regime’s exhausting strength, as well as all the contradictions emerged after democratic revolution. CITAC becomes an open window to the world.
