Synopsis
Sicily, 1930 - 1945. The period involved is between fascism and the Allied landing of the Americans. This is the story of Antonio Canepa, university professor, British spy, anti-fascist and separatist war commander who founded the EVIS, Independence Volunteer Army in Sicily. He involved his antifascist students in a fight for the independence of Sicily. Romantic and idealistic character died in an ambush that still remains mysterious. Today in Sicily is still alive an independence feeling and many people celebrate the date of Canepa’s death. The regional Governor of Sicily, Raffaele Lombardo, said that Canepa is one of the great character of the history of the island.
