Synopsis
Shot in Havana and in the smaller town of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, this short documentary displays three tales of loss, fracture and longing. With the approval of the “Ley de Ajuste Cubano” (The Cuban Adjustment Act) by the American Congress in the 1960s, which granted permanent residence to Cuban refugees in the United States, many Cuban citizens and families have become estranged. Playing with the boundaries between documentary and fictional narrative, and exploring the cinematic landscape of Cuba, Fieles a nuestra historia tells the story of those who were left behind, portraying the individual experiences of three characters: Eli, Daniel and “Teresa”.
