Synopsis
"Henri and the Islands" is a short film about Herstappe, the smallest village of Belgium, situated right on the linguistic border between the French and the Dutch-speaking community. People there speak both languages and there are no community-related problems. Herstappe however has its own troubles to solve. The inhabitants have (for a bizarre reason) stopped coming together and talking. Through the eyes of the youngest inhabitant and in his own light-minded way, we get to know the people and the sensitivities of this strangelike microcosmos. While the local council is busy with apparently trivial issues, the key for a brighter future lays in the innocent hands of our guide, Henri. A boy who doesn't know about the disputes and in his childlike naivity drives his bike from door to door.
