Synopsis
PHARAO BIPOLAR is a film in the stress fields of culture and illness. The artist Werner Ludvig Buchmayer is suffering of a bipolar disorder since he is 15. The film makers accompany him during his work on his own “Pharao film”. PHARAO BIPOLAR documents his mental ups and downs.
The inner diremption of a man caught between two extremes is the centre point of PHARAO BIPOLAR. The film follows the different states of Buchmayer’s alternating psychosis. It shows fragments of an artist's biography and a story of illness at the same time.
Also the reactions of his environment and the society in general are in main focus. Questions like “Who is crazy and who is normal?” are coming up constantly.
