The Documentary Film shows the city from an extraordinary vantage point: through the view of artists who were in Berlin as guests of the Berliner Künstlerprogramms. The film accompanies performance artists, composers and authors, a painter, and a filmmaker who were all recipients of the Berlin Artists in Residence Program. Being filmed at their favorite city sites,the artists convey their very personal experiences and tell tales of what influence Berlin had on their artistic inspiration. Participating artists are: Yuri Andrukhovych, Petr Borkovec, Clemens Gadenstätter, Andrew Horn, Clemens Klopfenstein, Anne-Mie van Kerckhoven, Imre Kertész, Liza Lim, David Moss, Peter Nadas, Paul Nizon, Damian Ortega, Arvo Pärt, Antonio Skarméta and Stephen Wilks.
