Synopsis
A US marine is nearing retirement after nineteen years of active duty, during which he served in the Gulf War, the Balkan conflict and twice in the current war in Iraq. He makes a trip to the town where he was born. He stops to visit members of his fragmented family, reflecting upon his troubled youth and his broken marriage along the way. Slowly, the effects of the war come to the surface. We see a man struggling to put his past behind him and to find a home where he will be at peace. This home he hopes to find with his second wife, Jennice, whom he met through correspondence while he was serving in Iraq. Will he be able to make it right this time, or is the trauma he has experienced too great?
