A War in Hollywood
Director Oriol Porta Tallada

Duration 92 min
Synopsis
Hollywood used the Spanish Civil War as a subject in more than 50 films, between 1937 and 1975, when Franco died. This evolution is narrated through the personal story of Alvah Bessie, a Hollywood screenwriter who fought as a member of the International Brigades in the Spanish Civil War. The documentary shows how cinema can be used as a political propaganda.
