In 1965 a VW Beetle is bought by a young civil engineer in São Paulo. Forty years later the car ends up in a Recife scrapyard, with the license plate KFZ-1348. Over these four decades, the car has had seven more owners: from a São Paulo businessman to a hairdresser in the interior of Pernambuco State. This Beetle meant something to each of them at different points in the history of Brazil. The documentary “The Beetle KFZ-1348” goes in search of their stories, with the car as the link between the various owners and their lives as unique windows on Brazilian society.
