Synopsis
Since 2003, the Parador Retiro (Retiro Shelter), an old large shed with a cement floor and sheet metal roof, has served with the aim of giving overnight shelter to some two hundred homeless people. Located a few minutes from the downtown of the city of Buenos Aires, the Shelter accommodates that most extreme and marginal members of the urban and street population: the chronically homeless, ex-convicts, drunks, drug addicts, and psychotics. Each night, their personal problems, the conflicts that are part of living together and the dreamed for longing to leave the place all meet. Parador Reitro is a documentary of observation, of direct cinema, with no interviews nor story telling, that shows the activity and living situation of this heterogeneous group of people.
