On 28 June 1914, the heir to the Austrian Empire, Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie were assassinated in Sarajevo by a young Serb nationalist Gavrilo Princip., Paul Gradvohl, a historian specialised in Eastern Europe, travels to Sarajevo to pursue an investigation opened a century ago. A few weeks after the assassination, the whole of Europe is up in arms and the police investigation will never really be completed., Paul Gradvohl decides to brush the dust from the file. He visits the crime scene, calls upon his colleagues (in Sarajevo, Belgrade, Paris, Vienna…), researches the archives, confronts various points of view… To retrace the assassination, he will use numerous exclusive or unknown footage., Was the attack against Franz Ferdinand a spontaneous act of young nationalists? Or was there someone behind? Who wanted the war?, Review of the assassination which constituted the first act of the Great War.
