Sinopse
Barıs, a marine biologist in his thirties, was born with a defect in his left hand due to some pills his mother took when she was pregnant to him, making his hand look like a fin. He also suffers from psychological defects that cause him to live dark and depressive winters, and light and hyper summers. After spending many years in the University, his father’s death in a sea accident forces him to take his responsibilities and run his small aquarium shop in the old town of Istanbul. Barıs tries to find a meaning to his physical and psychological problems by using science, especially the theory of evolution. He runs experiments in his aquarium shop, looking for evidence to support this theory. The limited life that he built for himself will come to an end with Cengiz, a hypnotherapist that he starts to see after the death of his mother. Cengiz manages to make Barıs face his past in a deep hypnotherapy session, and helps him to open up from the aquarium that he is stuck in, into the ocean. Taking his father’s old boat, Barıs sails onto the Egean Sea on a long trip and sees Deniz, an activist young free diver whom he met years ago. Deniz’s relationship to the sea makes Barıs very interested in her in both scientific and emotional ways. But science and love are two things that are difficult to formulate together. Soon, a conflict will prepare the ground for their relationship to end, but mother nature will step in, join science and love together from their purest points and create the seeds of a new family.
