Sinopse
When Inés died she left a number of notebooks as her inheritance. In them, she reveals a history that some of her daughters never knew, the story of the mistreatment, abuse and suffering she dealt with throughout a decades-long marriage to a man she never loved. This documentary is narrated in first person by Luisa Sossa, great grand-daughter of Inés, who through Inés' notebooks undergoes a personal journey to understand them and herself - why in each family there are secrets that we try to hide and whether their secrecy may be the reason why they are repeated from one generation to another. Victim of an extremely conservative and sexist culture, Inés was forced to give up the love of her life and marry the man her parents wanted her to. A man who as time went by, revealed himself to be a womanizer, and a mean spirited, selfich and violent person. Through this brave portrait of a family, unafraid of exposing the dirty laundry of its members and filmed with great humor, Luisa Sossa brings to the big screen the very relevant issue of abuse of woman and gives us plenty of reasons why silence is never an option.
